چکیده

After 20 months of clinical testing and more than 600 bonded arches, brief interim conclusions can be drawn on treatment with a new lingual bracket system, one that differs fundamentally from conventional appliances in both design and manufacture. The demand for maximum individuality is met by using state-of-the-art computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing technology to fuse the 2 normally separate processes of bracket fabrication and bracket positioning. Both the brackets and the pertinent archwires are customized. Additional advantages of the system include direct and thus simplified rebonding in the event of bracket loss, more precise finishing, and enhanced patient comfort.

Galvanic Corrosion among Different Combination of Orthodontic Archwires and Stainless Steel Brackets

Introduction: The aim of this study was to assess the galvanic behavior of different bracket and archwire combinations that are commonly used in orthodontic treatments. Methods: Three types of orthodontic archwires with a diameter of 0.016×0.022 inch and 80 standard edgewise maxillary central incisor brackets were selected. Three groups consisted of different wire-bracket couples and one group ...

A comparative in vitro study of frictional resistance between lingual brackets and stainless steel archwires.

Friction between archwires and labial brackets has received considerable attention; however, information on the frictional behaviour of commercially available lingual brackets is limited. The aim of this study was to investigate the frictional resistance resulting from a combination of lingual orthodontic brackets (7th Generation, STb, Magic, and In-Ovation L) and stainless steel archwires at 0...

Evaluation of the Effect of an Experimental Herbal versus Fluoridated Mouthwash on Frictional Resistance and Surface Roughness between Orthodontic Brackets and Two Types of Archwire: In Vitro Study

Introduction: The present study aimed to evaluate an experimental herbal mouthwash, as compared to sodium fluoride mouthwash on the frictional resistance and surface roughness between brackets and two rectangular archwire types. Methods: A total of 60 premolar׳s brackets engaged with 0.019×0.025 archwires made of stainless steel and nickel-titanium alloys were used in this study. The samples we...

Self-ligating fully customized lingual appliance and chair-time reduction: a typodont study followed by a randomized clinical trial.

In this study, we tested the hypothesis that self-ligation can reduce the chair time necessary for inserting and removing the archwire in a fully customized, multi-bracket, orthodontic, lingual appliance. A permuted-block, randomized trial design was employed to treat seven patients, each with Incognito(®) lingual appliances and Harmony(®) self-ligating lingual appliances. Three operators (a th...

Torque efficiency of different archwires in 0.018- and 0.022-inch conventional brackets.

OBJECTIVE To compare the archwires inserted during the final stages of the orthodontic treatment with the generated moments at 0.018- and 0.022-inch brackets. MATERIALS AND METHODS The same bracket type, in terms of prescription, was evaluated in both slot dimensions. The brackets were bonded on two identical maxillary acrylic resin models, and each model was mounted on the orthodontic measur...
